Hey there, folks! Time for a spiffy new journal update – YAY!
One week ago today I attended the Olympia Comics Festival in Washington, which was super fun! I was sharing a table with Mische Litvak, who is a writer/comicker/painter extraordinaire as well as the folks from the Eye Candy Animation Festival that took place immediately after the Comics Fest. Sales didn’t go as well as I had hoped, but I did notice a marked improvement over sales at conventions focused on anime and manga. I’m slowly finding my niche!
I also got to meet some interesting folk. :) The first was Chelsea, who is the amazing lady that runs both the Comics Fest each year as well as Danger Room Comics in Downtown Oly. I also got to talk to fellow deviant :devSavannahHorrocks: (small world!), Lisa Eisenberg, and Sarah Oleksyk – all very sweet, cool ladies! While there I also ran into Chris Baldwin (one of the very first web-comickers!) and my old pal Rick Perry from the Never Knows/Heavy Manufacturing Concern.
Furthermore, Mische and I landed a spot in a mini coverage video of the event, courtesy of Blissful Remembrances. Our segment begins at 3:15. Check it out, YouTubers! :D
In other news, I now have a college degree! HURRAY FOR ME! I am super educated and fancy now.
