What’s It All About?

“For Dante, life as a guy with only one wing isn’t easy. Poverty never helps much either. Frustrated with the hypocrisy and discrimination all around him, he spends most of his time alone, perusing the discarded treasures of the rich and the wasteful in the privacy of his own junkyard. When forced to get a job to help out his family, he confronts the fact that there are people out there just like him who face similar problems, even though their faces differ vastly from his.”

From the Critic’s Mouth:

“The art here is very minimalistic and while at first I was put off, once the story finishes the art really suits the comic. I would not enjoy seeing this in color or all flashy, the simplicity of the art works better and forces you to focus more on the story.” -EatSleepGeek.com, 08.18.09

“The ending for me is what made this worth reading. No, it’s not a story I care for or would normally support. But, the ending isn’t a total redemption of situations. Rather, the characters learn something about themselves and the world around them – even if it isn’t pretty – and have the potential and possibility to achieve something.” -SequentialTart.com, 08.03.09

“This shows a lot of promise. Gil’s artwork is sparse and airy with simple, strong lines. This is, as of right now, just a one-shot comic, but I like the premise quite a bit and I hope it’s something she revisits.” -ComicsGirl.com, 07.29.09
